Apple Cove fan write up [2011]

I just got back from seeing 'Apple Cove' and first let me say even if Allie wasn't in it, it's worth seeing. I haven't laughed this much at a live show in a looooooooong time. The acting is spot on. So anyone who can get out there needs to see this.

The place is small so even in you're in the back you are still very close to the stage. My friend and I were in the first row, so close I could have reached out and touched them if I wanted.

Now on to Allie, Smallville doesn't do this girl justice. She's so effing pretty and fair. She light up the stage. You can tell she is having a blast doing this. And her and co-star Dion Mucciacito MAJOR chem. And that man, even my very straight male friend was like DAMN!

Also Kathy Searle totally cool, totally awesome, we got to talking to her after everyone left and walked a block up. So down to earth and really funny.

and Allie, I admit I gushed all over her, my friend had to take over the conversation for a moment cause I couldn't speak. my first words to her when she came out were, "I'm so nervous to meet you." She laughed and asked why. And my friend goes on to say cause "she worships you" and that I don't watch SV when she's not on, which is true.

I told her that I knew she couldn't let me anything cause it would be spoilers but i did ask her two things, one I asked "they're not going to kill your character off right?" and two if as a Chloe fan would I be happy with her character's ending." She said yes I would be.

Here's hoping her version of happy is ours.

I've met actors before but never like this. we should all be proud of our girl, not only is she doing a great job but she is one of the sweetest people I've ever met.

Allison at the Crazy 8's Film Festival [April 2008]

So the evening started off with us arriving late to the festival and finding out we have to pay an extra $20 to get tickets at the door, (worth it) and just as we start paying they announce the doors are closing so we enter and walk up a winding flight of stairs ( In painful big heels ) and reach the door but the usher says they are all full in here, that we need to go to the next level and walk up another flight with my feet already being cut in half. So we finally reach our seats, but being dark and wearing heels, I nearly topple over the people sitting in front of me. But we are there and directly in front of us but down aways in the corner of the stage is Allison Mack with a bright spotlight on her and her engaging smile, wearing a nice black halter type top and nice black dress pants and some sexy heels, she is saying that this a great thing filmmakers still doing films like this and mentioning that she will be back at intermission and to enjoy the evening ( not exactly worded like that....but somewhat similar ). The first 4 films are done and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves! And again Allison comes out and is immediately complimenting the film makers ( as a gracious host would) and asks everyone to give them another round of applause.

It is now intermission and I decide to ever so gracefully put on my shoes that are trying to kill me , and go out to the lobby to see if I can find Allison and maybe ask her if she knows anything about the Smallville Annual Costume Sale or If she can so kindly as to get me a job on Smallville ( I would make an awesome Super Hero, maybe? ), or take a picture with her and tell her what a fabulous job she is doing, but as soon as I step into the lobby and can't even see my own hand it is packed to capacity, of course what I can see is very nice, lots of fine looking gentleman ( which I am sure are all looking for Allison ). So I try making my way through the crowd keeping eyes and ears open for Allison, but no sight, I then decide to see if I can get some sort of cold soft drink beverage, but the lineup is beyond impossible, so I give up there and head over to the stairs to go down to the bottom floor. Walking over doing my best to look banging sexy, I start to walk down the winding stairs all the while I am silently screaming in agony as my feet have now actually have been lit on fire. ( If you were able to hear me screaming, there would have been a lot of cussing with every step ), I am now on the bottom floor where a woman is selling the tiniest, cutest bottles of Dasani ( Which cost $2, I hope it came from the fountain of youth or something! ). Now I need to get back up the two flights of stairs, still doing my best to look provocative, and keeping my butt at the centre of attention maybe a little Beyoncee meets Jessica Biel-ish ( Ha ha )and finally make it back to my seat within one quick motion the death traps are removed from my feet.

For a while I have been staring at a empty section of the balcony nearest the stage, and decide I can get good pictures from there, so then comes the tedious task of putting back on the ever so deadly, but very cute high heels and I sort of glide my way to those seats. Intermission is now over and back comes out Allison , and me frantically taking pictures, not realizing she is looking right in my direction probably thinking I am nuts! So she finishes and up come the last 4 films.

Ending with wild applause and admiration, Allison then returns to the stage and again is honourably complimenting the filmmakers, producers, and writers for their inspiring work, and asks that they come op on stage as she reads their names ( One of which she had a brief problem pronouncing, but it was very endearing )and receive there do cheers and applause. And as the exit the stage she so graciously asks the hard working people behind the Festival to come up and so the ladies can show off their beautiful dresses.

At conclusion she reminds us to come out to the after party to schmooze and mingle with the artists, and lastly she thanks everyone for coming out and supporting the Festival and the Filmmakers.

The theatre is now emptying, and we get our stuff and head out to the lobby to see what or who is out there, of course there are double the amount of people than at intermission and you cannot move without bumping someone, but I wait it out for a bit. And just when I thought I had enough there is Allison standing right in front of me laughing and smiling, and taking a picture with a fan, she now has on a gorgeous black button down jacket, and there I am wearing light coloured skinny jeans, my painful black heels and a Gray zip up hoodie with little skeletons on it ( feeling so grungy and pathetic standing next her looking beautiful ) she then walks by sort of looks at me, I smile at her as my mom asks if I want my picture taken with her, but seeing as she is being swarmed, I decline, and continue on my way down my favourite set of stairs but just as I get to them I see a guy I went to school with whom did not enjoy my company back then. So I quickly grab my mom to avoid an awkward moment and head to the after party.

I now have given up on my shoes and bravely decide to go barefoot walking down the Lovely Vancouver street to the party where along the way some guy who is pretending to be a Swiss tourist starts chatting up my mom saying that he is rich and is here to spend money, that we should all go to the same club, oh and his dad is an Swiss actor who is in James Bond! Ha ha ha, so I standing there in silence looking very bewildered, and start walking again with a ' what the frick ' was that look on my face and make it to the restaurant. Finally we are inside and ever so slowly, but stealthily make our way to the back of the place, and just people watch. Not seeing anyone and getting tired we stay for about 45 minutes, we think it is time to leave and just enjoy the events that took place in our evening. All in all it was wonderful and quite excitable for me.
